food alchemy // turmeric latte

This little one has recently become my ultimate chilly morning warm-up, immunity booster, inflammation dissolver and the best part os, its super simple. 

Caffeine free, dairy free, sugar free.

Here we go: 

  • 1 cup almond or coconut milk (Im loving the new blends from Australia's Own for mega convenience) 
  • 1 tspn of fresh grated turmeric
  • 1 tspn coconut oil
  • 1 tspn cinnamon
  • 1 tspn nutmeg 
  • pinch of black pepper *this is important - it increases the bio-availability of the curcumin (active ingredient in turmeric) by +100%
  • 1 tspn honey

Heat the milk then add all other ingredients and steep for a few minutes.

Would be extra good to do this in a milk frother or thermomix if you have one. 


TIP: Turmeric has a really short season (just a few weeks a year which happens to be right now) so you can buy up and freeze portions of the root for later use. Winning!
