Intro to Thai Yoga Massage

Sunday 3rd July

For bookings email

After the highly successful March edition at Yoga Alchemy in the center of Northbridge, Roy van den Bor is back in town to teach another of his highly recommended Thai Yoga Massage immersions. This time round instead of 3 we will have 5 hours of workshop time during which you will learn the basics of Traditional Thai Massage, nowadays often referred to as Thai Yoga Massage.

The workshop is led by Roy van den Bor who has studied the art of Thai Massage in Thailand. His deep passion for exploring a more free body has led him to now teach yoga and practice massage on a wide ange of clients. Roy will give you his key insights in how the Thai massage works and how to get started practicing a simple but excellent Thai massage.

The workshop starts by exploring where Thai massage originates from and how it can be beneficial for people in the current day age. Some basics regarding injuries, safety, the human body and its energy system are covered after which we start to work with our partners. First of all (and as is skipped in many massage courses!) we need to develop sensitivity of touch and we learn this though a series of exercises where communication with your partner is key.

During the following 4 hours of the workshop Roy will demonstrate and explain in detail a sequence of massage moves after which you will, in turns, practice this on your partner. You will receive Roy's original guidebook on the Introduction to the Art of Thai Yoga Massage depicting in pictures and explaining in text the massage moves as reference material.

After this workshop you will be comfortable to start exploring Thai Yoga Massage with friends and family and enjoy sharing this precious gift. The course is limited to 12 participants to safeguard personal assistance.

From the precious edition at Yoga Alchemy:

"Roy is a born healer. As a massage therapist he is incredibly present and intuitive. His touch is calming, soothing and relaxing. He conveyed this to students passionately and effectively in the 3 hour workshop and equipped us with more than enough material to develop as massage therapists ourselves. As a qualified massage therapist I attended the workshop to refresh my skills and knowledge and I moved forward with a greater understanding about my path and journey as a healer." - by Millie Ross, Perth based yoga teacher and owner of Spectrum Yoga.

For bookings email Tickets are 95$ including the printed version of the original guidebook made by Roy.
