Through this 6 week course you will learn vital tools to navigate sitting comfortably in meditation, quieting the mind, effective breathing techniques to soothe your nervous system to experience deep relaxation and stillness. Meditation is a "longevity"practice, it can be both deeply rewarding and extremely challenging at times, it is the ultimate "goal" of yoga practice and can act as an anchor to ground, connect and steady us in times of celebration, and in times of intensity.
Each week we will enjoy a series of Yin style postures that work to open the hips and free up compression int he lower back that can sometimes make sitting for meditation uncomfortable (or even torture!)
For the second portion of our practice you will learn different techniques to effectively meditate, each week building up to sit for longer periods of time. We will draw on ancient yogic and Buddhist methods and well as 'modern' scientifically proven Mindfulness based techniques.
There are many different paths to a successful sitting practice, through this 6 week course we hope to connect you to a practice that feels sustainable, enjoyable and worthwhile.
This course is open to Beginners and seasoned yogis alike, it will not be a strong physical practice and will set you up for a wonderful deep sleep :-)
